Under the direction of Barbara Diekman, this intensive remodel and design project took over a year to complete and included both a main home and guesthouse. From start to finish, Barb worked closely with the homeowners to understand their vision of a rustic but undeniably elegant mountain retreat. Both the main home and guest house feature many custom elements, from furniture to built-in cabinetry, as well as many unique, personal touches inspired by the homeowners’ background and tastes. As a seasoned guide for both the remodel and design processes, Barb skillfully helped the homeowners to integrate the older parts of each space with their new additions, resulting in a one-of-a-kind getaway that exudes modern comfort and Western influence in its remote mountain setting.
